Wild Cow Run Beach, Middle Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands
Blog Post -Ā June 14, 2024
Wild Cow Run Beach is a really remote beach that requires 4-wheel drive to get there on dirt roads, but is totally worth it.
This beach is 3 miles long and it's located in Middle Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
From the main road you'll turn left onto a dirt road.
You'll see a "Welcome to Middle Caicos" sign with an arrow pointing toward Wild Cow Run.
You'll follow that dirt road till you get to a round about. You'll take the exit on the right hand side.
The roads gets narrower and sandier. You definitely want to be driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the rest of the trip.
We saw a couple of turnoffs, but they didn't look like groomed trails/roads.
We used Google Maps to make sure we were turning onto the correct road.
This is what it looks like:
Wild Cow Run Beach is 3 miles long, so there is a lot of beach to explore.
At the end of the road, you'll come to a fork in the road.
The trail to the left goes to one side of the beach and the trail on the right goes to the longer side of the beach.
We explored the left trail first.
We walked over to the left side of the beach and started exploring.
We decided to get into the water to do some snorkeling. Because of the seaweed and sea grass the visibility wasn't that good.
There is a beach hidden between the two trails.
We couldn't find an easy trail to go over in flip flops.
If we had some hiking shoes or running shoes we would have climbed over.
It looked like this little hidden beach had clearer water and would have been great for snorkeling.
I guess we will have to go back and try it.
Next, we decided to hike to the other side of the beach.
The other side of the beach is the longer side of this 3-mile beach.
The first part of the water had a lot of seaweed, but the farther we hiked the clearer and more turquoise the water became.
Overall, we had an amazing time at Wild Cow Run Beach. We would definitely do this beach again.
You will definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get to this beach and it should be on a dry day. You don't want to chance getting stuck on a rainy day.
