Waimea BayĀ Beach Park
Blog Post - Nov 10, 2024
Waimea Bay Beach Park is a beautiful beach located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
It has an iconic rock that is between 20 to 40 feet high that you can jump off of in the summer time.
There is free parking, free bathrooms and showers, and super soft sand to lay out and soak up the sun.
As you drive in, you'll see the Waimea Bay Beach Park Sign and then the parking lot.
After parking, we started walking towards the beach and saw the free bathrooms and showers.
After you walk past the bathrooms, you'll see this huge beach.
We decided to explore the left side (south side) first. This is where the large rock in the water is located. This rock is between 20 to 40 feet and lots of people like jumping off of it when the water is calm.
We saw someone climbing up the rock and that's when the life guards came on over their loud speaker and told him there was no jumping allowed today because it was too shallow with the waves going in and out.
After exploring that side of the beach we decided to walk down to the other side. The other side was a lot calmer and we wanted to go snorkeling here.
We saw some guys body boarding and getting destroyed in the waves.
The farther we went up the beach, the more people we saw swimming in the water.
As we got to the right side or north end of the beach we could see that the waves had eroded the beach and the ocean and the river were almost connected.
We walked past the river and that's where we got into the water to go snorkeling. The water was clear, but we didn't see any fish.
After snorkeling, we got out of the water and layed out on this beautiful beach.
Overall, we had a great time at Waimea Bay Beach Park. We definitely want to come back in the summer to jump off the rock when the water is calm. We would highly recommend visiting this beach on your next trip to the North Shore of Oahu.
