The Moon House, Great Exuma, Bahamas

For our trip to the Exumas, we booked an Airbnb rental called The Moon House, which is located in Bahama Sound 11 on Great Exuma in the Bahamas.

It's located just south of George Town so it has easy access to food and gas.

It's recommended to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to drive the dirt roads to get there.

We loved the pool at the Moon house. It was so nice to go swimming and relax after a long day at the beach.

This house is located about 2 blocks from the water.

Many of the streets on Great Exuma do not have street names.

The best way to find the property is to go to Google Maps and google Sun and Moon House.

It will direct you to take the Queen's highway heading south past George Town and then to make a right hand turn onto a dirt road to get to the house.

This dirt road goes up a steep hill and then down to the house. 

The house is located on the left side of the dirt road.

As you pull up to the duplex, the moon house is on the right hand side. 

You'll see a moon above the doorway.

As you walk into the Moon house, you will see the living room and dining area. There is also a tv with Netflix.

As you walk toward the kitchen there is a little table and chairs. Behind the table and chairs is a water dispenser.

The kitchen was recently remodeled and has a full refrigerator and a stove/oven. There is a double sink, but no garbage disposal in the sink

There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 

The guest bathroom has a doorway the goes to the guest room too.

The guest bedroom has 2 beds, a closet, and a new a/c unit that kept the room cool.

As you walk into the master bedroom you'll see a bed, closet and it's own a/c unit.

It also has its own private bathroom.

As you walk out the back door, you'll see the washer and dryer on the right hand side.

You'll also see the deck and pool.

They also had a hammock and 2 canoe/kayaks.

Overall, we loved our stay at the Moon house.

The kitchen was well stocked, the wifi worked great, and the new a/c units kept everything cool. 

We would definitely stay at the Moon house again.

We booked our trip through Airbnb.com. 

The price was $220 per night for 9 nights plus the additional fees.

Total Cost: $2,401.96 for 9 days.

These are the checklist items I recommend:

• Rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
• Bring reef-safe sunscreen
• Bring your own snorkeling gear.
• The house provided towels for the beach.
• The house provided a tv with Netflix to watch shows and movies.
• Bring mosquito spray.
• You can buy groceries in George Town.
