Sandy Point Beach, North Caicos,Ā Turks and Caicos Islands
Blog Post -Ā June 12, 2024
Sandy Point Beach is a beautiful beach with crystal clear shallow water located on the northwest side of North Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
We were driving along a paved road and then made a left onto a sandy dirt road. That led us to the free parking area with direct access to the beach.
As we walked out onto the beach there were signs that said to watch out for rip currents. As we got into the water it was super calm and hardly any current, but there must be some rip currents sometimes here if they are warning about it. If you ever get caught in a rip current down't swim against it, but swim to the side to get out of it.
We walked out onto the beach and decided to go swimming and snorkeling first.
The water was crystal clear, but we didn't see much as far as marine life goes. It was still so fun to swim in water with such great visibility.
After swimming and snorkeling, we got out and started exploring the beach. This is what it looked like.
After exploring the beach, it was nice to cool off in the water. Because the water is so shallow, we were able to hang out and talk in the water.
Overall, we had a great time at Sandy Point Beach. This is a great beach for a relaxing day in the sun.

CHECKLIST:
These are the checklist items I recommend:
- Bring your own towels and beach chairs.
- Bring some water and snacks.
- Bring your own snorkel gear.
- Bring reef-safe sunscreen.
- Driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended as you will be driving on a sandy road. On a dry day you most likely wouldn't have a problem in a regular car, but we drove a Jeep just in case and did fine in 2-wheel drive.
