Blog Post - November 9, 2021
Salt Pond Beach Park is located on the south side of Kauai.
This beautiful beach has plenty of parking, bathrooms, pavilions with picnic tables, and a big grassy area to hang out.
This is a great beach for swimming and snorkeling as there is a coral reef that blocks the big waves.
There are 3 swimming areas. The baby pond on the far west side of the beach, the main bay, and farthest area that backs up to the airport. The airport side of the beach is very calm and the best spot for snorkeling.
This is what the parking lot looks like:
As you walk from the parking lot onto the grassy area, you can see the bathrooms, the pavilions with picnic tables, and lots of palm trees.
These are the views of the beach as we walked and explored.
We saw a monk seal resting on the beach.
This beach also has a lifeguard stand.
The best snorkeling is in the shallow water at the end of the beach. This is the area that backs up to the airfield.
As we went snorkeling, we saw airplanes and helicopters landing at the airfield.
These are some of the fish we saw snorkeling.
Overall, we loved this beach and would highly recommend it on your next trip to Kauai.
