Reduit Beach - St. Lucia
Explore Reduit Beach on St. Lucia:
Blog Post - November 8, 2018
Today we docked at Pointe Seraphine, St. Lucia. This is right next to the city of Castries. We had heard a lot of good things about Reduit Beach, so we decided we would spend the day there. On the map below, you can see where we docked in relationship to Reduit Beach. (See the map below)
At the port, they had a duty free shopping complex. We located the taxi area and found out that we needed to pay for our taxi ride to and from Reduit beach up front. We paid $8 per person for myself and Julie, so for both of us it came to $32. (they only took cash)
We got a nice taxi driver who drove on the left side of the rode (that’s the correct side of the road in St. Lucia).
We got to Reduit Beach and were swarmed by guys selling beach chairs and umbrella rentals. They made it seem that you had to rent them and when we told them no, they made it seem that wasn’t an option. It was $20 for the chair and umbrella. We told them no and kept walking. We found an area we could lay out our towels and enjoyed a less crowded part of the beach.
Reduit Beach has beautiful sand surrounded by green mountains. Here’s the view looking south.
Here’s the view looking north.
We decided to walk the entire beach. We saw one area where there was a massage tent setup and someone was getting a massage.
We reached the end of the beach were there were only locals so we turned around and headed back.
We also saw a small boat that was covered with shrubbery that was selling drinks.
We found a nice spot next to a tree and laid out our towels.
We swam out a ways to snorkel and loved the views from the water.
We went to the very north end and had a fun time snorkeling.
We even saw what looked like two fish kissing.
Overall, Reduit beach was a fun place to hang out.
After we were done, we took our same taxi back to our cruise ship. We enjoyed the sunset from the cruise ship and took a crack at life size chess. What an awesome day!
We would love to come back to St. Lucia and explore other beaches on this beautiful island.

PRICING:
Our visit to St. Lucia was actually pretty cheap since we didn’t book an excursion.
Our budget was spent on taxis.
Taxi to Reduit Beach and back: $32 Cash for 2 adults
Beach Chair and Umbrella rental was $20 at Reduit beach, but we opted not to rent.
Total Cost: $32
Although it was a pretty cheap day, I would recommend bringing enough cash for your taxis and food. I only had enough for our taxi, so we didn’t eat while we were out. We made up for it when we got back to our cruise ship and ate from the all you can eat buffet.
