Playa Largu, Curacao
Blog Post - November 12, 2022
Playa Largu, Curacao is a remote beach with great snorkeling around large elkhorn coral.
It's only accessible by dirt roads. When you get there, there is a large unpaved parking area. There is also a road that goes down the beach that has areas you can pull off and park.
There is a $6 US dollar fee to access these roads.
We drove a 4-wheel drive vehicle and would recommend that to access this beach.
We turned off the main road and headed toward the gate, which was open and had a sign with the hours.

There's a sign that shows the hours they are open and how much it costs.
They are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm.
The entrance price is $10 Gilders or $6 US Dollars.

From there, we followed the dirt road to a forest area. It looks like a tunnel through the forest.

As we came out of the forest, you come to a residential property with a concrete wall and an entrance to drive in. You drive up to the top and that's where you will pay to get in.

After we paid the $6 US dollars, we turned right and headed past the house. Then the road veers to the left and goes uphill. You can see on the map where we are headed.

You're going to come to a fork in the road. You are going to go straight. You will see a sign pointing to the right for Playa Manzalina. Don't turn, go straight.

After following the dirt road for a while, you will come to another fork in the road. You will see a sign pointing straight to Playa Largu and a sign to the right for Playa Shon Mosa. Go straight and follow that dirt road to the Playa Largu.

As you get close, you'll see a lake on your right hand side.

As you pull up, you can park and go snorkeling. The other option is to turn right and go down the road. There are a lot of areas to pull off and park.

We got into the water and started snorkeling south. There is a large area of elkhorn coral that is great for snorkeling.

This is what it looked like snorkeling:

This water is so clear. It was such a fun area to explore!

Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend Playa Largu for snorkeling on your next trip to Curacao. Don't forget that you will need to bring your own snorkel gear as this is a remote beach with no facilities.
