The Northwest Point National Park is located up on the northwest side of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

We got a lot of information for our visit including this super helpful map from the VisitTCI.com Website. This map showed us that we would be able to drive our Jeep for about a mile, but then it's recommended to walk the last 1/2 mile so you don't get stuck in the soft sand. It's recommended that you drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle here.

This is what the mile of dirt roads looked like:

As we were driving in we saw the welcome sign to the Northwest Point Marine National Park. It had five things to be aware of:

1. Fishing is prohibited - $50,000 fine + imprisonment

2. No Littering - Punishable by fines and imprisonment

3. Do not drive on the beach.

4. Do not steal sand - $50,000 fine + imprisonment

5. Crime Risk - Don't leave valuables unattended, either in your car or on the beach. Thieves operate in this area.Ā

These rules/warning were good to know. As far as crime goes, we never leave anything in our car, but it is good to know and to be aware ofĀ our surroundings.Ā

When we arrived at the roundabout we parked our Jeep right before the area where the sand gets deeper and softer. We walked the rest of the way.

Instead of walking on the road, we walked along the beach. This was so nice as we could get into the water to cool off. The water was really clear and great for swimming.

As we got closer to the point we could see a small shipwreck.

We reached the Northwest Point and saw that there was another beach to explore. The views from the point were beautiful.

The road ends at the small grassy area at the Northwest Point.

After exploring and hanging out we started walking back to our Jeep. These beaches were absolutely beautiful.

Overall, we had a great time at the Northwest Point National Park. We would definitely go back again.Ā
