Norbellis Coves, Middle Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands
Blog Post -Ā June 14, 2024
We hiked to the remote beaches and coves at Norbellis Coves.
This is a 3-mile out-and-back hike.
It's located on the north end of Middle Caicos in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
There's no parking at the trailhead, so we parked at Dragon Cay Resort and walked over to The Crossing Place Trail.
We brought water and snacks for this 3-mile out and back hike.
The trailhead is visible from the road and is a mixture of rocks, dirt and shrubs.
We sprayed down with mosquito spray before the hike because their are some stagnant ponds along the trail.
Our mosquito spray worked and we enjoyed this hike.
From this aerial view, you can see the Norbellis Coves off in the distance.
The trail is easy to follow. The first turnoff goes to the beach at Whale Cay. Keep going on the trail to the Norbellis Coves.
As we got to the first cove, we saw a trail marker and we walked over to the beach. We decided to walk the beach. This is what it looked like.
When we got to the end of the beach, we walked back over to the trail to hike to the next cove.
You'll see trail markers to let you know you are going the right way.
This part of the trail was overgrown and harder to get through.
As you get to the end of the Norbellis Coves, you can see that the trail keeps going. This is where you'll reach the 1.5 mile mark. We turned around here to hike the 1.5 miles back to the trailhead.
These were our views of the Norbellis Coves on the hike back.
Overall, we had a great time on this hike. It was hard to find any information on this hike so we really didn't know what to expect.Ā
If we have the chance to do this hike again, we are going to bring our snorkeling gear. Each one of the coves looked like there might be some great snorkeling.Ā
We also would have worn running shoes or hiking shoes to go all the way to the end. We did this in our flip flops and did fine, but my feet were starting to hurt by the end of the hike.
We loved the Norbellis Coves and would highly recommend visiting here on your next trip to Middle Caicos.

CHECKLIST:
These are the checklist items I recommend:
- We did the hike in flip flops, but it would be way more comfortable in running shoes or hiking shoes.
- Bring your own snacks and drinks.
- Wear reef safe sunscreen.
- We didn't bring our own snorkeling gear because we didn't want to hike with it, but you could snorkel on a calm day.
