Napali Coast Raft Excursion - West Kauai - Hawaii
Blog Post - November 10, 2021
We booked our 6 hour Napali Coast Raft Excursion through Capt. Andy's at Napali.com/Raft/Day
This excursion took us down the Na Pali Coast on a custom 24 foot rigid hull raft with 2 powerful engines.
We got to explore inside and outside of sea caves, see amazing waterfalls, see dolphins swimming by our boat, snorkel a remote beach at Nualolo Kai, eat a delicious lunch and then hike to the ruins of an ancient Hawaiian village.
We met up at the Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor at 8932 Kekaha Rd, Kekaha on the south side of Kauai. We had to be there by 9:30 am in the morning.
We parked in the big unpaved parking lot and then we headed over to the pavilion to get checked in.
Upon check in we got a dry bag to put our stuff in, they verified that we had signed our waivers, and they assigned us to a boat for our excursion.
As we got to our 24 foot raft, we all took off our shoes and put them in a dry bag. Then we all got on the boat. As we headed out of the marina, we got to jump some waves. It was really fun!
As we headed west towards the Napali Coast we passed Polihale State Park Beach. These views are amazing!
After passing Polihale State Park Beach we started to explore the Napali Coast.
As we were going along in the raft, we saw spinner dolphins swimming right by us. It was such an awesome experience.
One of the cliffs looks like it has King Kong or a gorilla face etched into the side of the cliff.
The Napali Coast did not disappoint! These views were amazing.
Then we started exploring sea caves. We got to back into caves and explore them along with some amazing waterfalls.
This next cave has an open top and a rock in the middle. We got to drive into this cave and go around and back out.
Then we headed back to exploring the Napali Coast.
Then we went by Kalalau Beach. This beach allows camping by permit, but you have to hike the hard 11 miles with all of your gear to get there. This beach is absolutely amazing!
Julie and I were absolutely loving this excursion so far. Then we started exploring more of this amazing coastline!
Then we headed to the Na Pali State Park, Nualolo Kai Area for snorkeling, lunch, and exploring some ancient ruins.
After getting settled in, we put on our snorkeling gear and headed out to the reef to start snorkeling.
After snorkeling we were served a delicious lunch along with water or sodas and a cookie for dessert.
After eating we went on a hike to explore some ancient ruins and to explore this beautiful area.
After exploring, we packed up our gear and got back on our boat and headed back to the marina.
Overall, this was an amazing excursion that we would do again in a heartbeat. This was so fun and we highly recommend it on your next trip to Kauai.
