MakapuuĀ Beach Park
Blog Post - Nov 11, 2024
Makapuu Beach Park is a beautiful beach located on the southeast side of Oahu, Hawaii.
This beach has free public parking, public bathrooms, a lifeguard on duty, and great waves for body boarding or surfing.
You can see where it's located on the map below.

As we pulled in we found a free paved parking lot. If that lot is full, there is an overflow dirt parking lot. You'll want to arrive early as these parking lots fill up fast.
There is also a public bathroom.

After parking we took the trail over to the beach. There were picnic tables along the way and some amazing views of the beach and surrounding mountains.

The waves were too big to go snorkeling, so we explored the beach, laid out, and watched the body boarders and surfers.

Overall, we had a great time at Makapuu Beach Park. We would love to come back in the summer when the water is calmer to see what the snorkeling is like here.
