KuhioĀ Beach Park, Oahu
Blog Post - Nov 14, 2024
Kuhio Beach Park is located on the south side of Oahu, Hawaii in Honolulu.
This beautiful beach has a concrete barrier wall that blocks the big waves so it is a calm swimming and snorkeling area, which is ideal for kids and families.
It has a divider in the middle making it into two ponds. The nickname is the Kuhio Ponds.
This is where it is located on Oahu.

Kuhio Beach Park doesn't have its own parking lot, so you are going to have to pay for parking to go to this beach. They have paid metered parking close by or you can pay for a hotel parking garage or a public parking garage.

We found a metered parking spot just a few blocks from Kuhio Beach Park. It cost us $2 for 4 hours of parking.

There is a sidewalk that runs along the entirety of the beach. At the southern end is a walkway that you can walk out on and view the southern pond.

At the southern entrance we saw this surfboard sign with some history along with a cool statue.

This is the view from the walkway/pier.

There are a few of these entrances/exits along the wall that allow you to swim out and snorkel the coral reef outside of the pond.

The water is crystal clear and shallow. We walked out to the wall and watched the small waves crash over the wall.

After swimming and hanging out on the southern end, we walked over to the northern end to explore.

We found that the northern end also had crystal clear water and was very shallow.

Overall, we had a great time swimming and laying out here. We would definitely go again.
