Kapalua Beach Beach was not only beautiful, but had some of the best snorkeling on the west side of Maui! We saw lots of turtles and an octopus!
When we pulled into the parking lot, all of the parking spaces were full, so we went across the street to the Kapalua Tennis Garden Parking Lot and paid $10 to park there for 3 hours. We parked at the bottom or south end of the parking lot and walked across the street to Kapalua Bay Beach.
As you get closer to the beach, they have bathrooms and showers. You then walk down the steps and through a tunnel to reach the beach.
This is a smaller beach, but the sand is really soft and the views are amazing!
We set up on the south end of the beach as we heard this was the best snorkeling.
As we started to snorkel, we saw two turtles, an octopus, and lots of fish. The water was really shallow so the visibility was really good. This was an amazing spot to go snorkeling!
This is the receipt for our paid parking lot at the Kapalua Tennis Garden Parking Lot. We paid $10 for 3 hours of parking:
We paid for parking at the top of the parking lot at the Snack Shack.
Then we drove down to the bottom of the parking lot as it is closer to Kapalua Bay Beach.
Then you head over to the sidewalk and cut through the grass towards the Kapalua Bay Beach Parking Lot.
As you come out of the trail, you will cross the street and you will see a sign pointing the way to the beach.
This is the Kapalua Bay Beach Parking Lot. There are very few parking spaces, but they are free. I would check here first and if they are full, pay for parking across the street.
These are the Kapalua Bay Beach Bathrooms and showers.
You'll walk past the bathrooms, down the stairs and through a tunnel to get to the beach entrance.
This is the view of the beach entrance.
Then we went snorkeling at the south end. We saw lots of turtles, an octopus, and lots of fish.
Overall, we had an amazing time at Kapalua Bay Beach. The beach was beautiful and the snorkeling was amazing. We would highly recommend visiting this beach on your next trip to Maui!
