Kailua Beach Park is an enormous park with a long stretch of a beautiful beach, green space, lots of parking lots, public bathrooms, and lifeguards on duty.

This amazing beach is located on the southeast side of Oahu, Hawaii.

We started out on the very far left side or the southern side of the beach and explored heading north.

As we were walking along the beach, we decided to get into the water to cool off and go snorkeling. We brought our own snorkeling gear with us. We are so glad we got in as we were able to see some sea turtles and fish.

After snorkeling, we got out and laid out for a while.

Then we decided to keep exploring going north along the beach.

We came up to a section of the beach where we saw lots of people bringing in their kayaks and going out. There is a river that is on the other side of the beach from the ocean that people use to ferry their kayaks to the parking lot area.

From the beach you can see Flat Island (Popoia Island) out in the distance. This is a popular spot to kayak out to and then head over to the Mokes Islands.

Overall, we had a great time at Kailua Beach Park. We thought that we would be able to rent a kayak there, but you have to rent it from on off-site facility and bring it yourself. Next time we are going to do that.Ā

With that said, even if you don't go kayaking this beach is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely go back.
