Kaihalulu Beach at Turtle Bay Resort
Blog Post - Nov 12, 2024
Kaihalulu Beach at Turtle Bay Resort is a remote beach that you have to hike to, but it's definitely worth it.
This beach is free to the public and is located up on the North Shore of Oahu.
It's only about 0.33 miles to hike from the parking lot to the tide pool area at Kaihalulu Beach.
As you drive in, you'll see the Turtle Bay sign. Follow this road to the end to get to the free parking at the Turtle Bay Resort (Ritz-Carlton)
When you get to the Ritz-Carlton, you'll veer to the right and follow the road to the free beach parking area.
You'll know you're in the right area when you see these signs saying "Shoreline Public Parking Access".
After parking, we followed the trail to the beach. It was well marked with a sign that says "Beach Access" with an arrow pointing in the right direction. We went up the stairs and walked the paved trail down to the beach.
As you come out onto the beach you'll see a lot of beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Walk over to the right side of the cove and you'll see a sandy trail down to Kaihalulu Beach.
This is what the sandy trail looks like. We walked down until we got to the tide pool area.
Then we decided to walk farther down the beach where there were no people and lay out. It was so nice. It felt like we had this beautiful beach all to ourselves.
We didn't go swimming in the open water as the waves and current were too strong on the day that we went. We then headed back the same way we came in.
Overall, we had a great time at Kaihalulu Beach. We definitely want to go back in the summer time when the water is calmer and go snorkeling here. We would definitely recommend this beach.
