Ferry Ride from Providenciales to North Caicos in theĀ Turks and Caicos Islands
Blog Post -Ā June 11, 2024
We flew into Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, but were going to stay in Middle Caicos for 4 days and then return to Providenciales for another 5 days.
Normally we would rent a car and just drive there, but there is no bridge to get to North Caicos and Middle Caicos from Providenciales.
We found our best option was to take the ferry from Providenciales to North Caicos. We booked our round trip ferry tickets in advance through Caribbean Cruisin (TCI Ferry).
From the Airport we booked an airport transfer through FastTrackTCI.com. They picked us up in a Suburban which fit our family of 6 and all of our suitcases. We paid an extra fee for them to stop at the Grocery store so we could buy fresh produce to bring with us over to North and Middle Caicos.Ā (Graceway Supermarket)
The airport transfer serviceĀ dropped us off at Heaving Down Rock, Walkin Marina. This is where Caribbean Cruisin (TCI Ferry) is located.Ā
The ferry ride takes about 25 minutes from Providenciales to North Caicos. It goes to Bellfield's Landing Marina on North Caicos.
This is what the entrance to Walkin Marina looks like.
On the far side of the Marina there is a big yellow building. That is where Caribbean Cruisin (TCI Ferry) is located.Ā
We went inside the yellow building and got checked in. They gave us laminated tickets that we would use to board the ferry.
Once we got our tickets we were ready to board the ferry. We were there about an hour early so we had to wait to board. About 15 minutes before our boarding time we were allowed to board the ferry. They put all of our suitcases and groceries in the back of the boat and we sat in the front part of the boat.
Once everyone was boarded the boat left the marina and we traveled for about 25 minutes. These are some of the views along the way.
We finally arrived at Bellfield's Landing Marina on North Caicos. This is what the marina looks like.
We pulled up and were able to get off the boat and they unloaded all of our suitcases and groceries.
As we walked up to the main building we found that they have a restaurant, a small store, bathrooms, and the ticket office. This was a really nice facility.
We had already reserved a Jeep through SuperiorAutoRentals.com (Easy Car Rental) and we met them in the front of the parking lot. They gave us the keys and we headed out. We were really glad that we had rented a Jeep as a lot of the beaches went to needed 4-wheel drive.
On our way back to Providenciales after our time on North and Middle Caicos, we had reserved another Jeep through GraceBayCarRentals.com and they met us at the Marina so we could go to our place on Providenciales directly from the Marina.
Overall we had a fun time taking the ferry.Ā
Note: If you are going to buy groceries in Providenciales and then take it with you on the ferry, you'll want a small cooler for any frozen food. We didn't have a small cooler and our chicken went bad while we were waiting for an hour to get on the boat.

CHECKLIST:
These are the checklist items I recommend:
- Purchase your ferry tickets in advance and bring your receipt with you to check in.
- Check the schedule depending on what time of year you are going because they have different schedules. Caribbeancruisin.com/tci-ferry-schedule
- Rent a vehicle, we recommend a Jeep, prior to your ferry ride so it is ready and waiting for you in North Caicos when you arrive.
