D.T. Fleming Beach Park backs up to the Ritz Carlton Kapalua on the west side of Maui. This is a great beach for picnics, surfing, and boogie boarding. The waves are usually too big for snorkeling.
To get there you take Honoapiilani Highway and turn onto Lower Honoapiilani Road. This is a no outlet road and DT Fleming Beach Park is at the end of this road.
There are two free parking lots to access the beach.
This beach has bathrooms, showers, and picnic tables.
When you get out onto the beach, the sand is really soft. At the end of the beach we saw a big sea turtle sunbathing on the beach.
This is what the turnoff looks like from Honoapiilani Highway:
As you turn onto Lower Honoapiilani Road, you will see the no outlet sign and the DT Fleming Beach Park Sign.
You'll follow the road to the end where there are two parking lots. An overflow parking lot on your left and the main parking lot on your right. Both of these parking lots are free.
After we parked, we walked over to the beach. On the way, you will see public bathrooms, showers, a lifeguard station, and picnic tables.
Then we walked the entire beach. This beach is so beautiful!
It was so cool to see this large sea turtle just sunbathing on the beach.
Overall, we loved DT Fleming Beach Park and would highly recommend it on your next trip to Maui!
