After driving out to Chichen Itza and doing the tour, we headed over to the Cenote, Ik Kil. This cenote is close in distance and the water was so refreshing on a hot day. After parking, we headed over to the ticket area and purchased our tickets. Each ticket was $150 pesos, which is about $7.50 in US Dollars.
We went through the entrance and followed the yellow arrows to the cenote.
There is a great overlook area to look down into the cenote.
Before you go to the cenote, they have a locker area where you can put your belongings. You also need to get a life jacket. They are mandatory to go swimming in the cenote.
We made our way down the stairs. We wore our water shoes as the stone is a little rough on the feet.
As you make your way down the stairs, there are 2 overlook areas. This overlook lets you see the cenote and the jumping platform.
This is the view of the cenote as you exit from the stairs. It's so amazing!
